Can I enter parks @7pm for After Hours and start rides? Is Safari open during this event? Are most rides open or only a select few? Would you take time away from rides to watch Rivers of Light? How many rides can I expect to do during After Hours event?

Hello again, Debbie! Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I’m so happy I can assist you with yet another question related to your upcoming vacation!

Disney After Hours events are one of my go-to recommendations for Guests wanting to experience Walt Disney World Resort in a whole new way! Saying that I am a fan of these events is the understatement of the century! My experience at Disney After Hours - Magic Kingdom is still one of my all time favorite events I have ever attended for a variety of reasons. From the inclusion of select refreshments to the exclusive feel of this event, it really makes for an extra magical evening!

You will be able to enter Disney’s Animal Kingdom as early as 7:00pm on the evening of your Disney After Hours event. This means you will have an additional hour and a half to experience attractions prior to the actual start time of the event! If there are specific attractions you would like to experience, I would recommend making FastPass+ reservations for them during this time. That way, you won’t have to be concerned about whether or not they will be open during the actual event. Many popular attractions will be open during this event, such as Avatar Flight of Passage, though attraction availability is subject to change based on the evening you are attending. You will be able to experience the attractions that are open with little-to-no wait times so the number of attractions you are able to experience will likely be up to you!

If experiencing Rivers of Light Nighttime Experience is a priority for you, I would recommend watching it! It is truly a great show and definitively something I would try to fit into my stay at some point!

Have fun on your trip next week!
