Hey there, Christine. Thanks for stopping by with your question. I can see that your trip to the most magical place on earth is only a few short months away, I bet you are getting so excited.
Christine, I am so happy that
park hopping has officially returned to Walt Disney World. It is actually my preferred touring method and I missed it while it was not being offered last year. My perfect Disney day starts in the early morning at Magic Kingdom Park riding some of my most favorite attractions. Around lunchtime, I love to head back to the Walt Disney World Resort Hotel that I am staying at for a little pool time. This is always when the parks tend to be the busiest and I love having a little reprieve. After splish-splashing in the Florida sun for a while, I like to clean up and visit Epcot for snacks and drinks in the evening around The World Showcase. I think you will be happy to know that you can also visit as many of the Walt Disney World Theme Parks as you'd like in one day with your park hopper ticket. So if you'd like to start the day off at Magic Kingdom Park then visit Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park in the afternoon and venture on to Epcot in the evening one day during your trip, go for it! Even though park hopping has returned, it currently looks a little bit different than before.
Here is how park hopping is currently working:
- Guests wishing to park hop must have valid theme park admission with the park hopper option
- Guests wishing to park hop must have a park pass reservation for the first theme park they wish to visit each day
- Guests wishing to park hop must visit and scan into the park with the park pass reservations first
- Park hopping hours currently start at 2:00 p.m. and last until park closing each day
- Park hopping is subject to capacity limitations at this time
For your convenience, complimentary park-to-park bus transportation is being offered at this time to make things a little bit easier for Guests wishing to park hop. When you are ready to visit another Walt Disney World Theme Park, head out to the bus stop and look for the bus marked for where you'd like to go next. There will be a Cast Member working the bus stop verifying that all people boarding the bus to another park do indeed have the park hopper ticket. It's just a quick scan of your MagicBand or ticket and off you'll go. If the theme park you are wanting to visit is no longer accepting Guests due to capacity limitations at that time, the Cast Member at the bus stop will be able to notify of that as well. I have been park hopping for 2 months now and have not run into that problem yet but did want to mention the possibility of it just so you are aware.
I hope you enjoy your park hopping days at Walt Disney World, Christine. If you have any other questions before your trip, I'd love it if you came back and
asked me.
Have fun!
