We want to enter the park in late afternoon to evening and we are going to need to rent an electric wheelchair. We know it's first come first serve, but we need to know if our odds are good in renting one? We will be arriving on a Wednesday.

    Hi there, Darla!

Thanks so much for stopping by planDisney with your question. With your visit just over a week away, I bet you are getting excited and can feel the pixie dust starting to swirl. It's great that you are thinking through your arrival to make it a smooth one, so let's dive into your question!

You are correct! Electric Conveyance Vehicles (ECV) and wheelchairs are available for rent at the Stroller Shop located just off to the right outside the Disneyland Park entrance. Along with the strollers, these vehicles are available on a first-come, first-served basis, so there really is no way to guarantee or guess availability with a late afternoon arrival into the parks. While the summer is starting to wind down, it is still a busy time, even mid-week, and since there is no reservation system for ECVs, it's hard to know how many Guests will be requesting one on any particular day.

If you know that you will require an ECV to enjoy your time in the parks and are staying at a hotel locally, I'd recommend reaching out to a third-party rental company like ScooterBug to secure an ECV. Most of these companies will not only deliver the device directly to your hotel, but you can also rent them for the full length of your stay, and not have to worry about rental availability at the Stroller Shop. This option guarantees you access to a device so you can check that off your park planning to-do list!

Ahead of your visit, I highly recommend reading through the list of services offered for Guests with mobility disabilities. You can find everything from information on disability parking to a guide detailing how Guests are required to board each attraction. The Disneyland Resort takes great care in ensuring the magic is accessible to all Guests, so there are a lot of resources to use ahead of and during your visit!

Darla, I sure hope this was helpful and we've set you up for a successful visit next week! If you have any more questions, we are always happy to help a fellow Guest here at planDisney

    Magic awaits!
