Welcome to planDisney, Bridget!
This is such a great question. I am a rope drop kind of girl, and I understand that knowing what time you can enter each of the four theme parks is essential. And it can make a difference when it comes to getting on that first attraction of the day. Here's all you need to know about entering the parks when you're not staying at a
Disney Resort hotel.
While Guests of a Disney Resort have access to
Early Theme Park Entry, it doesn't mean you are stuck in the parking lot until the official park opening! Each park operates a little differently, so let's start with the
iconic Magic Kingdom! All Guests will be able to enter through the turnstiles and enjoy the shops on Main Street U.S.A., grab a coffee, and even take in castle vibes in the hub. You can also choose to head to the entrance of Adventureland to wait for official park opening, or make your way to the Liberty Square entrance to line up for a Haunted Mansion rope drop. This is a great option as Resort Guests will already have access to Tomorrowland and Fantasyland, meaning longer waits may be in place when you arrive. Cast Members traditionally start letting people in an hour before park opening (30 minutes before Early Entry). This time can vary, but I find it is better to be a little early than to enter the parks behind schedule.
Over at
Animal Kingdom, you will be able to tap in, but you'll find yourself waiting very close to the entrance until the park is open to all Guests. The experience at
EPCOT will be similar. Now,
Hollywood Studios can vary a bit. I have experienced waiting near the entrance until park opening, and more recently, I have been able to scan in 30 minutes before Early Entry and enjoy the shops and sites. It's important to note that park operations can change, so it never hurts to double-check with a Cast Member at the gates when you arrive! And don't forget to check theme park hours in your
My Disney Experience app throughout your stay! Park hours can change, sometimes with just a few days' notice!
I hope these tips help you plan out the perfect mornings for your upcoming adventure!
