Hello there, Mario!
I’m so glad you stopped by
planDisney to ask us a question. Becoming a
Magic Key holder is a great way to enjoy many magical theme park visits throughout the year for one price! At this time, sales of new Magic Keys are paused, so it is not currently possible to purchase a pass. However, if you already have one that has not yet been activated or you’re simply planning for the future, I am happy to give you some insight into how the activation process works.
Magic Key passes become active the first time they are scanned for theme park entry, and they can also be activated when using the included
parking benefit in a pay-on-entry lot at the
Disneyland Resort, such as the Mickey & Friends Parking Structure. That said, you must have a valid
theme park reservation to enter a park on any day, including the day you activate your Magic Key. You will not be able to schedule a reservation on a day that is blocked out on your pass’s availability calendar. While your Magic Key parking benefit is also not available on a blockout day, you should be able to take advantage of any applicable food, beverage, and merchandise
discounts associated with your pass at resort locations outside of the theme parks, such as the Downtown Disney District and
Disneyland Resort Hotels.
We’re not sure when Magic Key passes will become available again, but if you keep an eye on the
Disney Parks Blog and follow the Disneyland Resort’s social media accounts, you’ll be one of the first to know when an announcement is made about Magic Key sales! Please feel free to
write back with any other questions that come to mind.
Wishing you magic,
Courtney
