We have enjoyed May trips because of weather & school is in session. We have a trackout break for the kids the 3rd week in May but are concerned it's too late to get good reservations for fast pass and restaurants. What is best lead time to plan?

    Hi Daniel,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Thank you for bringing this question to us! I am delighted to greet a fellow North Carolinian.

May is a beautiful time to visit the Walt Disney World Resort. I would certainly recommend visiting during this time of year just to see the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival. Our first trip with our girls was during this festival and Epcot was gorgeous.

If you have not made Fast Pass+ reservations, you need to do so now. I always suggest that guests book Dining Reservations 180 days in advance and Fast Pass+ reservations 60 days in advance if staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel. Do not fear, however. If you have not made reservations, there is still hope!

This close to your arrival date, you can always check the dining availability to see where you might be able to secure reservations. I definitely suggest that you book a resort as soon as possible so that you can start trying to get Fast Pass+ selections. I was curious, however, so I checked dinner possibilities for May 18th. There were several restaurants available although those that offer character experiences had later dinner times. Crystal Palace, for example, had a table for four available at 8:40 p.m.

Depending on how long you can stay, I highly recommend visiting Pandora - The World of Avatar that opens in Disney's Animal Kingdom Park May 27th. We are all anxiously awaiting this spectacular new land!

    Happy Planning Daniel!
