Greetings, Carmena, and welcome to planDisney! What better setting is there than the Disneyland Resort to ask such a magical question? I’m delighted to offer you a sprinkle of inspiration to help make this fairy tale moment extra special.
You can absolutely get engaged at the Disneyland Resort, and there are several popular proposal locations across the two theme parks.
If you want to capture the moment on camera, consider choosing a
Disney PhotoPass location to pop the question. You'll wait in line for the PhotoPass Photographer and set your belongings aside when it's your turn. This could be a good opportunity to give the photographer a subtle heads-up that you'll be proposing, although it's fine if you don't have a chance to. The most iconic spot to propose, and I've seen it myself, is in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle. Just know that this is a high-traffic area, so other Guests will likely be watching and cheering you on. You can explore other PhotoPass locations on the
Disneyland mobile app.
Here's a tip: The
Lightning Lane Multi-Pass allows unlimited downloads of Disney PhotoPass digital photos, so you should purchase this add-on to maximize the magic of your day. You'll enjoy shorter waits at popular attractions and be able to save photos taken at PhotoPass locations all day long.
If you want somewhere a little more private to propose, consider Snow White’s Grotto, which is at the side of the castle. There is a tranquil waterfall with sculptures and a wishing well. Another option is the
Storybook Land Canal Boats, which is especially romantic at night when the boat travels under a canopy of lights.
Maybe you'd like to propose during one of the nighttime spectaculars? Imagine
colorful fireworks lighting up the sky while timeless music plays, or
towering fountains illuminated with colors and projections with scenes from classic Disney films. I recommend getting a dining package so you can enjoy delicious food and secure premium viewing for the show.
Tomorrowland Skyline Terrace is an excellent option for fireworks, and the
Dessert Party is my favorite option for World of Color. Keep in mind that fireworks happen on select nights and may get canceled due to weather conditions.
You can also keep it classic and propose at one of the restaurants inside the parks.
Blue Bayou in Disneyland and
Carthay Circle in California Adventure would be my recommendations for a romantic atmosphere.
After the proposal, remember to celebrate with a complimentary “Happily Ever After” button. These are usually found at City Hall on Main Street, U.S.A., or the Chamber of Commerce on Buena Vista Street. Retail shops throughout the Resort may also have them.
