We are going the end of October so we go to take advantage of free dining. Our table meals are booked already with character meals. But what is considered a quick service and snack?? This is our first trip with a 5-7-9 year old kids. Please help!

    Hi Amy,

Your trip is almost here! Are you too excited to sleep yet? Great job planning ahead by taking advantage of free dining and booking table service meals in advance (and the popular Character Dining experiences!)

Quick Service, or counter service meals, are considered dining locations where you generally pay for the food at a cashier station before you eat and then carry your meal to a seat-yourself table. Reservations are not accepted. You'll find dozens of counter service locations throughout Walt Disney World, including your Disney Resort Hotel. A great resource in reviewing menus ahead of time is to visit the independent site allears.net. From the homepage click, "Walt Disney World," then "Dining," and finally, "Menus."

There are hundreds of "snacks" to choose from including items such as a dole whip, a cinnamon roll, a bottle of water, ice cream, beignets, fruit and more. You'll find snack entitlements notated on menus by a small purple and white checkerboard symbol. When in doubt, simply ask the friendly Cast Members!

I'm attaching a link to all participating Disney Dining Plan locations for your reference. Also keep in mind you can utilize your Disney Dining Plan snack credits at the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival during your trip. It's a great value to try out the many delicious offerings across the World Showcase. Just keep an eye out for the purple and white checkerboard symbol beside the items.

I've purchased the Disney Dining Plan several times in the past, so please feel free to send me any other questions, Amy. I'm happy to help.

    Have a magical vacation!
