Hi Arielle,
Thank you for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. How wonderful to be celebrating your little girl's birthday at Walt Disney World! Let me offer you some thoughts on how to have a magical time with a 5-year-old at Walt Disney World.
Do get a "Happy Birthday" button for your daughter while you are visiting Walt Disney World. These are available at Guest Relations at all four theme parks, and at many other locations throughout Walt Disney World. They are complimentary, and while there is no guarantee, you never know when a little extra pixie dust might be sprinkled on her day. When my daughter wore a birthday button on her 7th birthday, she received a giant cupcake after her lunch at The Plaza Restaurant at Magic Kingdom!
Since you have a little time before your trip, I suggest that you watch the
Walt Disney World planning video. This video will show you what is available in the four theme parks, and can start to give you an idea of where would be the perfect place for her on her birthday.
Another possibility at the end of October is to have a night at
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. At this amazingly fun party, guests can dress up, trick or treat, and enjoy wonderful holiday entertainment at the Magic Kingdom.
Finally, consider booking a
character dining experience on your daughter's birthday. A special meal like this could be so memorable for her! If she loves Mickey Mouse and his friends, consider Chef Mickey's. If she is enamored with princesses, Akershus Royal Banquet Hall is a great option.
I hope that these thoughts are helpful for you, Arielle! Please let us know if you have any further questions.
