Hi, Lori! Thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
A few years ago, I planned a Walt Disney World Resort trip for my extended family. During that visit, three members of our party required the use of motorized scooters, also known as Electric Conveyance Vehicles (ECV). I think you will be happy to know that the Walt Disney World Resort has many helpful services and access options available to
guests with mobility disabilities.
Most of the transportation options at the Walt Disney World Resort, such as buses and the monorail, are accessible to guests using wheelchairs or ECV scooters. Just keep in mind that when traveling to an early morning breakfast reservation, the bus system begins running 45 minutes prior to park opening. If your reservation time requires you to be there earlier, I would recommend using the
Minnie Van Service.
Using the Lyft app on your phone, you can request and pay for a Minnie Van. A friendly Cast Member will then pick you up in an adorable red and white polka dot vehicle and drive you anywhere on Walt Disney World Property. This service is so convenient! There are also Minnie Van vehicles that can accommodate wheelchairs and ECV scooters. In order to request one of these accessible Minnie Vans, you will want to call (407)828-3500 rather than making your request through the Lyft app.
Please let us know if you have any other Walt Disney World vacation planning questions. See ya real soon!
