    Enchanted princess K: After the 3.1 mile "sweep", when you enter the park, are you able to slow down a bit to take pictures with characters? I see lots of pics of pple w/characters and wonder how they have time for that!

    Hi, Kelly! 

    While the last "hard sweep" is at the 5K point, there will still be pace cyclist on-course so runners know if they are falling behind. As long as they don't pass you, you know you're ok. You will have time to stop for photos, you just might not be able to stop for every single one. The majority of photo stops are located along the World Showcase Promenade, which is just under a mile of the course. You will find Mulan in China, Dopey and/or Snow White in Germany and a character from Beauty and the Beast in France. Once you pass these photo stops, you will hit Disney's BoardWalk Resort Area where you will find Football Goofy in front of the ESPN Club Restaurant. After that, you will have time to run and catch-up on time before the next photo stop. 

    Another factor in how much time cushion you have is your corral placement. The 16 minute mile timing does not begin until the very last runner, in the very last corral, crosses the starting line. And with seven minutes between each corral, those in front corrals have extra time. I advise regardless of which corral you are placed in, to move to the front to build in some time.
