Hi Patty, welcome to planDisney. I recently renewed my Magic Key pass, so you can count on me to help with this! Let's get you ready for another year of magic at the Disneyland Resort.
Your
renewal window will open 30 days before your pass expires. When you renew, your Magic Key pass will automatically activate the day after your current pass expires. Your new expiration date would be around the same date, just one year later. Renewals are a seamless way to keep the magic going!
If you
purchase a new Magic Key pass, you could wait to activate it at a later date (up to one year from the date of purchase). One option, then, would be to purchase a new pass instead of renewing your current one and hold onto it until you are ready to activate it in June. This is, of course, subject to availability, since Magic Key passes may sell out. Should you go this route, I recommend purchasing it soon while passes are available to make sure you get the one you want. You should definitely do it before your current pass' expiration date. That way, if pass sales are paused, you'd still have the option of renewing.
Patty, this is an exciting time to be a Magic Key Holder. If you decide to renew, you'll have the chance to enjoy the
Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival before it ends on April 21, 2025. By the time you visit in June, the much anticipated
Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration will be in full swing with colorful decor, collectible merchandise, special entertainment, and more. Check out the
Disney Parks Blog to learn about other events and festivals that are on the way.
Patty, if you have any questions or need help with the renewal process, feel free to reach out. We're here to help and wish you a magical year ahead at the Disneyland Resort!
Sending you a sprinkle of pixie dust,
Kriss
