Hi Emma! Great seeing a UKmom to help the international guests! ?: Taking the Behind steam train tour and have to be at MK at 7:15 latest. Can we park our car and take a monorail that early? If not, is taxi the only option? Staying off site. Thanks!

    Hi Yasmijn,

Being from the UK, it is my absolute pleasure to be able to assist all international guests planning trips to Walt Disney World!

I have made some enquiries and am informed that the parking lot for the Magic Kingdom opens 1 hour prior to the opening of the park each day. I am not sure of the date you will be taking Disney's The Magic Behind Our Steam Trains Tour but would suggest that you check the calendar for the Magic Kingdom HERE for the date in question to establish what time the park is due to open.

I would say that you will need to leave yourselves at least 45 minutes to get to the Magic Kingdom from the parking lot as once you have parked your car, you will need to take a shuttle to the Transportation & Ticket Centre and from there will have to catch a monorail or ferry boat to the Magic Kingdom itself.

If the parking lot at the Magic Kingdom is not going to be open in time, I would suggest driving to Disney's Contemporary Resort and explaining the situation. You should be allowed to park your car there whilst taking the tour. From here, the Magic Kingdom is only a 5-10 minute walk or about 15 minutes on the monorail away.

Once your tour has finished, you will need to return to the Contemporary Resort to relocate your car to the parking lot for the remainder of the day.

Please be sure to come and visit us here on the Mom's Panel again if we can be of any further help.

Wishing you a magical holiday, filled with memories which will last a lifetime!
