Emma, it was great to hear back from you. We have heard that on new years the parks will actually close and no one can get in. With a park hopper pass will we still be able to go from park to park. We are staying at wilderness lodge (the fams excited)

    Hi Karen,

It's no wonder that your family are excited - you're going to Walt Disney World!

I'm so glad that I have heard back from you as I did want to mention to you that the theme parks have been know to close due to reaching capacity at this time of year in my last answer but unfortunately, ran out of space.

Whilst it is impossible to predict if a park will reach capacity on any particular day, as the week between Christmas and New Years Day is one of the busiest weeks of the entire year, there is a chance that this could happen during your stay with Christmas Day and News Years Eve being the most likely.

If a park does reach capacity and is closed, no further guests will be admitted to that park, regardless of whether they are staying at a Disney Resort hotel or if they have advanced dining reservations for restaurants located inside the park in question. (Once a sufficient number of guests have exited the park, it will be re-opened until such a time that capacity has been reached once again.)

As a result of this, I would advise you to arrive at the theme park where you would like to spend New Years early that morning and plan to stay there for the whole day.

Apologies for any confusion and please feel free to ask me any other questions which you may have.

    Wishing you a magical trip!
