We are embarking on a Frozen cruise later this month. What would be the easiest way to mail postcards from some of the European ports? Are stamps available for purchase on the ship?

    Ahoy, Sarah!

One of our must-do's while out at the European ports was to mail postcards to our family back in the US. We made it a point to even send ourselves 1 postcard from each port that we visited. It's so neat to arrive home and receive your own postcard a couple of weeks later -- reminding you of the fun that you had that day!

Postcards are widely available at any of the gift shops at the port or the town center that you'll be visiting. It's usually the first thing that I pick up once given the opportunity to enter a gift shop. The shop will even sell you local stamps for mailing. Depending on where you are sending your postcards to, the shop keeper is usually aware of which stamp to sell you, and you can also ask where the nearest post box is to drop your mail. All my postcards arrived at our home address with no problems. My kids enjoyed taking pictures of the mail boxes in Europe - they were brightly colored yellow and quite easy to spot.

I made it a point to drop my postcard at the port to make sure there was a postmark from that same town and country. If you don't get a chance to drop your postcard in the mail while still at the port, you can also bring them to the Guest Services desk onboard the ship. You can pay for stamps there, and your postcards will be mailed either at the next port or at the disembarkation port. They'll be able to tell you when they can expect the next mail drop so that you'll know when mail will be on its way. It might of course be a different country by then, so the post mark may be different.

Have a great voyage, Sarah. If there's anything else that we can try and help you with, please don't hesitate to ask. We're always happy to help!

    Bon voyage!
