We're embarking on our first Disney cruise in a few weeks! Yay!! We are getting to Galveston the night before, and they are dropping us off a couple hours early. I was wondering can I leave my luggage at the cruise port before our boarding time?

    Welcome to planDisney Michelle!

Arriving the day prior to your Disney Cruise is a great idea. It really takes the stress off - no worrying about delayed flights or traffic!

You will need to keep your luggage with you until you arrive at the port during your assigned Port Arrival time. Upon arrival at the port, your luggage can be dropped off with a porter who will make sure your luggage goes through a screening process then delivered to your stateroom. Any bags you are carrying on will go with you through security (similar to security at an airport).

Once onboard, you will get to enjoy a delicious lunch and you are free to explore the ship until your stateroom is ready (usually around 1:30pm). Please note that you may get to your room before your checked luggage arrives, but rest assured, your luggage will get to you with enough time to change for dinner.

Have a wonderful FIRST Disney Cruise. Captains Mickey and Minnie can't wait to SEA you onboard! Welcome to the Disney Cruise Line family.

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the snow and cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is hiking at a National Park, sailing on a Disney Cruise Ship, or going to Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. My husband proposed to me in front of Cinderella Castle and we have not stopped visiting ever since! It's a blast helping guests here at planDisney!
