Ahoy there, Vickie! Welcome to planDisney.
I’m excited to see you’ll be sailing on the
Disney Wish this October. There’s so much excitement on Embarkation Day and it can be overwhelming trying to figure out where to start first. Of course, like you, my family’s priority when we board a Disney cruise is to feast.
There are a few venues for you to dine at for lunch on Embarkation Day. The places you’re describing sound like Mickey’s Smokestack Barbecue and Donald’s Cantina, part of
Mickey & Friends Festival of Foods located on Deck 11. Since it’s located on the pool deck, this is a convenient, casual location to grab a quick bite while the little ones take a dip in the pool. Other options available at Mickey & Friends Festival of Foods include Daisy’s Pizza Pies, Goofy’s Grill, and Sweet Minnie’s Ice Cream. They each have different hours of operation but both Mickey’s Smokestack Barbecue and Donald’s Cantina will be open until early evening. I recommend checking on the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator App when you’re onboard the ship for the most up to date hours of operation.
Marceline Market is another casual eatery that will be open on Embarkation Day. There are various food choices available at this buffet. While it can get a bit crowded on the first day, especially with carryon bags in tow, we like having the many options for everyone to pick and choose. My son especially loves the shrimp at Marceline Market... he can spend hours peeling and eating them!
I hope this information is helpful for you, Vickie. I wish you a magical sailing on the Disney Wish in October! If you have more trip-planning questions, please don’t hesitate to visit us on

Bon voyage,
Kiki
