I would like to do an elopement while on our Disney vacation. We will have less then 10 people attending.. Do you have any budget friendly ideas on the best way to do it.

Why hello there Kayla, I'd like to wish you a warm wedding welcome to planDisney!

Take it from someone who got married last year here at Walt Disney World Resort, having a Disney Wedding can definitely be something that couples save up for in order to include some of the iconic experiences that only come with a celebration at the Disney Resort Hotels and theme parks! As I completed years of research planning our wedding I actually learned a lot of great strategies to save from other couples and their experiences through online resources like the Ever After Blog and the Disney Wedding Podcast, so on behalf of many other like-minded DisBrides and Grooms on a budget I'm happy to share some great wallet-friendly wedding planning knowledge:

    • There are certain experiences and offerings that are exclusive to couples who plan their celebrations with Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings team such as Magic Kingdom Park portrait sessions or having events in the theme parks - but you'll be happy to hear that as of this current time you can have a Disney wedding while sticking as close as possible to the Event Minimums (currently as low as $15,000) with as few as two guests, but depending on your budget that might still be quite a bit for such an intimate guest count.
    • With a guest count that you're both anticipating, I'd also recommend making a dining reservation together at a Disney Resort Hotel location like Topolino's Terrace where couple have been able to dress up and have Characters be a part of their big day. (For our wedding, we paid several thousand dollars for Mickey & Minnie to surprise our guests, and this might be a close budget-friendly alternative!) You might even skip a formal reception altogether and book a Specialty Cruise to end your day with fireworks on a pontoon boat that seats up to 10 guests!
Other Enchanting Extras include a Capture Your Moment session during your wedding week, which can either be just the two of you or up to 8 guests - however be aware that wedding attire is not permitted. These are just some of my tips and tricks that I and even fellow Disney Bride and Panelist Kay can suggest, so come back to us again here at planDisney to ask for any more ideas that we can share as you plan!

Wishing you all the best as you look forward to getting married at the Most Magical Place on Earth!
