Hi there Heather, wishing you a warm wedding welcome to planDisney!
It looks like you might've seen
my big day featured by Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings, or have read the countless bits of nuptial knowledge that I've bestowed upon fellow Disney couples online who are also planning their own
Disney Wedding here at Walt Disney World Resort. Now when I first started researching the process of getting married in true Disney fashion it was in fact several years ago when specific packages existed that were targeted to much smaller, intimate celebrations like an elopement. When we first looked into an option like this, the choices of where and when we could tie the knot were quite limited (and even included venues
that currently no longer exist, like Luau Pointe)!
You'll be happy to hear that you can elope and have an intimate wedding celebration since they are currently all planned the same way regardless of your guest count - allowing couples to have the freedom to choose from
so many more venues - just as long as you're willing to pay for the
Event Minimum Expenditure required for each one.
It's important to bear in mind that all ceremonies and wedding events that take place at the theme parks or
Disney Resort Hotels must be planned through Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings team. (Some nearby exceptions include tying the knot up on the open decks of
Paddlefish located in Disney Springs or even the
Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotels that have their own events teams.) The reason why so many fellow Disney couples choose to have a Disney Wedding like we did, along with fellow planDisney Panelists
Kay,
Tracie and
Kaitlin is that we all were able to take advantage of having some
exclusive experiences only available to Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings couples like Cinderella's Carriage, Character Appearances or a
Theme Park Portrait Session that cannot be booked any other way at the current time.
I highly recommend following
Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings on social media, engaging with DisBrides planning groups to hear
the stories and experiences from fellow elopements on the Ever After Blog and the Disney Wedding Podcast to be inspired and see how other real Disney couples have been able to achieve their wedding day dreams! In the meantime, don't hesitate to come back to ask me directly for any other Princely pointers, tips or tricks to tying the know here at the Most Magical Place on Earth.
Here's to stepping into your Happily Ever After together!
