Hi, Andrea! Welcome to planDisney!
Your question brings back so many fond memories of visiting The Most Magical Place on Earth with my children when they were little. When my husband and I first took our kids, who are now teenagers, on a
Walt Disney World Resort vacation, The Main Street Electrical Parade appeared nightly at
Magic Kingdom Park. I can still picture the wonder on their little faces, illuminated by the parade floats' glowing lights, as they watched the parade make its way through the park. Last summer, my family was lucky enough to catch The Main Street Electrical Parade during its limited-time return to Disneyland Resort. We were able to relive some magical memories and even recreate a favorite photo of my kids watching the parade ten years ago.
Unfortunately, The Main Street Electrical Parade is not currently performed at Walt Disney World Resort. However, I'm happy to share that you'll be able to experience several other
entertainment options that my family and I enjoy just as much as that beloved classic parade.
You won't want to miss the
Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade. This daytime parade features numerous Fantasyland characters, and the spectacular floats are sure to mesmerize Guests of all ages. My favorite parts of this parade are the
Tangled float, and of course, the Maleficent dragon. Be sure to check the
Entertainment Schedule to see when the Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade is being performed during your visit.
If your Walt Disney World Resort vacation happens to fall within the holiday season, I highly recommend purchasing tickets to attend either
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party or
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. The parades at these special events are among my favorite Walt Disney World Resort experiences, and they're certain to be a highlight of your holiday season.
In addition to parades, Walt Disney World Resort Guests have so many choices when it comes to entertainment. Be sure to check out my favorite Walt Disney World Resort show,
Happily Ever After. This breathtaking fireworks spectacular is so inspirational and moving. I can't help but shed tears of joy every time I experience this heartwarming show. Also, for Guests like you who are missing The Main Street Electrical Parade, I suggest viewing the
Electrical Water Pageant as it travels around Seven Seas Lagoon each night. This show, which can be viewed from several Magic Kingdom-area resort hotels, holds a lot of that same nostalgic charm that we all loved about the Main Street Electrical Parade.
While I haven't heard of any plans for The Main Street Electrical Parade to return to Walt Disney World Resort, be sure to follow the
Disney Parks Blog for all the latest news and announcements. If you have any additional questions, please stop by planDisney again.
See ya real soon!
