Hello - have elderly parents staying at AKL, king room w/handicap accessible shower. Concerned about walking distance from hotel room to trans. to parks for them - is it a long walk from their room to the bus to get to the parks? Thank you!

Melissa, staying in a room with zebras, giraffes, and other exotic African animals outside your window is such a unique and special experience.

Handicap accessible rooms at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge are distributed throughout the resort. Since this resort is vast, your parents could end up with a room quite some distance from the bus stop. Do consider requesting a room close to transportation so your parents won't have to walk so far. Cast Members will do their best to accommodate your wishes, but cannot guarantee a king room with a handicap accessible shower will be available in your top location. A few days before your arrival, call the resort at 407.938.3000 to explain your parents' situation and make your request.
