We will have eight in our party, six adults, two children. If we split up while at a park and some want to eat one place and others another who can use their magic band to use the dinner plan we all have? Same question for fast passes. Who can sign up.

    Hi Douglass!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! A Walt Disney World Resort Vacation is the perfect destination for big groups. We usually travel with my parents, and my teens often head their own way, so I can assure you that My Disney Experience is set up to make everything work smoothly for large parties!

I recommend that at least one adult from each family (or all adults would be even better) create their own My Disney Experience Account, and one adult should add the kids on their account. After everyone has an account, use the Family & Friends option to link together. Having your own account means you can use the My Disney Experience Mobile App on your phone to view things like Disney Dining Plan Credits, wait times, and FastPass+ selections. If someone prefers not to have an account, they can still use Disney Dining Plan Credits and FastPass+ from their MagicBand, they just won’t be able to see the details or make changes on their own.

Disney Dining Plan Credits are allocated to the room reservation, not a single person, and all credits are available on the day of check-in. Each person on the reservation can access credits with their MagicBand, so you can easily split up and use your credits where you like. You can check remaining credits on the My Disney Experience Mobile App, and even use your credits with Mobile Ordering!

Anyone in your group with a My Disney Experience Account can make FastPass+ selections. You can choose to make them all together, or split up. The entire party does not have to have the same FastPass+ attractions! If you would like to have some together, I recommend you nominate one person to be the “FastPass+ Maker.” On your FastPass+ selection day, which is 60 days before your resort check-in date, that person can make FastPass+ selections for the entire group! Anyone with a My Disney Experience account can also change them later if they wish. For example, if it is decided that the children either can’t or don't wish to ride Space Mountain, anyone in the group with a My Disney Experience Account can change those children and one or more of the adults to go with them, while the rest of the group keeps their Space Mountain FastPass+.

The system is set up to be flexible and work for your entire family, Douglass. I hope this helps answer some of your questions, and sets you up on the way to a smooth and magical Walt Disney World Vacation!

    Have a Magical Day!
