Hello there Ned,
Welcome to planDisney and thanks so much for your question! Congratulations on your new role as your group's "official Disneyland Resort ticket holder" - it's a role I'm quite familiar with as well!
When you purchase your
theme park tickets, it's not uncommon for the names to show up as whoever purchased the tickets. While you can contact a
Cast Member at the Tickets line to have the names changed to the members of your party, it shouldn't matter either way.
When you arrive at the parks for the first day of your visit, a Cast Member at the entry gate will take a photo of each person that will be associated with their individual ticket. This is what will be used each time you enter the parks!
In terms of connecting tickets with the
mobile app of other group members, I'm always a huge proponent of this! In the mobile app, you can have other party members select the menu button, then tap "Tickets and Passes" and then "Link Tickets & Passes." It's helpful if you can send them a screenshot of the ticket barcode they can use to scan from their phone for this step or they can manually type in the ticket ID number.
Alternatively, you can take a screenshot on your phone of each person's ticket in your group and send them the picture. I have some friends who just set their ticket screenshot as their lock screen background so they can easily scan into the parks as needed! This is especially helpful if group members don't want to set up the mobile app on their phone, but might need their ticket (like if your group is prone to split up during your visit).
Thank you again for your question, Ned! I hope you have a fantastic time visiting the Happiest Place on Earth.
Have a Magical Day,
Greg
