Hi Christine!
My first suggestion for a family of 6 is
Disney's Art of Animation Resort. This Resort is mostly suites that sleep up to 6 Guests. The bedroom has a queen size bed, while the living area has a double bed sleeper sofa and a dining table that converts to a double bed. These suites have 2 bathrooms and a kitchenette, which is a huge plus for families. The rooms are 100% themed with loads of fine details. My favorite suites are in the Lion King section.
My second suggestion is my favorite Walt Disney World Resort,
Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. The cabins sleep up to 6 Guests comfortably and has a fully equip kitchen. The back bedroom has a queen size bed as well as a set of bunk beds while the living room has a double sized sleeper sofa. My family loves staying in the cabins, especially when my parents are visiting with us.
Fort Wilderness is a unique property. The cabins are surrounded by nature, so it's a peaceful place to be, all while being so close to the magic. There are tons of fun activities to do as well. My favorite is
Chip 'n Dale's Campfire Sing-A-Long. You can bring your own s'mores supplies or purchase them at the Chuckwagon Snack Bar. This activity is nightly and followed by movies under the stars. The Magic Kingdom is just a ferry boat ride away from the Fort Wilderness marina or you can take Disney bus transportation to the other parks or Disney Springs.
Please come back and visit me if you would like more information on either of these Resorts.
Have a magical day!
Leslie
