What is the most economical way for a family of 5 to get from Disney world to port canaveral?

    Hi Caroline,

There are two extremely affordable ways for a family of five to get from Orlando International Airport to Port Canaveral.  If you prefer to drive yourself, simply rent a car at the airport and then make the easy drive to the port.  This is what my family did last March when we sailed on the Disney Dream.  We parked our rental car in the covered parking deck near the terminal and paid a reasonable daily parking fee.  Then the car was waiting for us when we returned from our voyage.

Another cost-effective option is to arrange for a car service.  Have them pick you up at Orlando International Airport and drive you to Port Canaveral.  I found this option to be surprisingly affordable, especially if you have a group of four or more.  There are many car services that serve the Orlando area.  They are easy to find on the internet.  Personally, I have used Mears Transportation with great success.  They can be reached at mearstransportation.com to book your ride either or both ways.

Best of luck to you as you plan your trip!  Let us know if you need any additional advice.
