Hi! We are going to be eating at Sanaa. What do you recommend picking other than the bread service.

    Hi, there!

Alex, I am just thrilled you stopped by with this great question and even more thrilled to hear you'll be visiting the Walt Disney World Resort this Spring. How exciting!

Sanaa is my family's absolute favorite dining location in all of Walt Disney World. We never (ever) miss a chance to visit this unique restaurant while we're on vacation! I'm happy to share our must-order recommendations for your upcoming reservation.

To start, yes, you absolutely must order the Indian-Style Bread Service. With five types of warm naan and nine accompaniments ranging from mild cucumber raita to spicy jalapeño-pickle, there's something on this platter to please every palate! Be sure to pair your appetizer with one of Sanaa's specialty cocktails. My favorite is the African Starr Mojito. It's perfectly light and refreshing! For your entrée, my husband and I recommend ordering from the Potjie Inspired menu. First, you choose one option from the Journey selections - my husband loves the Butter Chicken while I prefer the Spicy Durban Shrimp. Next, you choose one option from the Harvest selections - I suggest the Chickpea Wat. These two small dishes are served alongside scented Basmati Rice. For a small up-charge, you can choose two options from the Journey and forgo the Harvest (plant-based) selection (this is usually what my husband does). If you have room for dessert, I recommend the Serradura. It's a delicious butterscotch pudding with almond coffee streusel, pineapple, mango, and Breton shortbread. YUM!

When I made my family's first-ever reservation at Sanaa, I truly only made it for the entertainment factor. Our boys were both under the age of 3 at the time, and they did not sit well in restaurants. I thought we might be more likely to enjoy a nice meal if they could be watching African animals while they ate! I was certainly right about that, but we had no idea how much we would come to enjoy the food at Sanaa. The menu is a bit overwhelming, so do not hesitate to ask your Server for recommendations. All the Servers are exceptionally knowledgeable and just delighted to assist you!

While you're waiting to be seated or after your meal, take some time to walk out on the boardwalk that extends just past Sanaa's check-in area. The Savanna Overlook offers exceptional views of the wildlife and stellar photo opportunities. There is always an Animal Specialist out there who is happy to answer any questions or share interesting facts about the animals!

I hope this was helpful, Alex. Please visit us again soon with any new questions you may have about your Disney vacation! We'd love to help you plan a magical stay.
