If we are eating dinner at Whispering Canyon for a 60th birthday celebration. Can we visit the petting zoo even though we are not a resort guest? How far is it from the cafe to the petting zoo and what is the best way to get there? THANKS! Love the pane

The Whispering Canyon Cafe' is a wonderful place to celebrate being young-at-heart. This restaurant is located at the Wilderness Lodge.

The petting zoo is at the Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground and all guests are welcome!

On a nice evening, it's a pleasant boat ride away. Take the Blue Flag launch from the marina's dock.

There is also an approximately 3/4 mile path that connects the two resorts. The Front Desk can provide you with a map.

Taking a bus from the Wilderness Lodge to Fort Wilderness is a bit more complicated. You would take a Fort Wilderness bus that drops you off at the Outpost Depot. From there, you would transfer to a Settlement Depot bus which would put you in walking distance of the petting zoo.

Enjoy the very special birthday celebration!
