We are eating at Boma after we leave Animal Kingdom Park at closing, will we be able to take Disney transportation from the restaurant to our Disney resort? What time does transportation stop?

    Hi Olivia,

Oh, yum! I'm hungry just thinking about the scrumptious meal you will soon have at Boma, one of my favorite Walt Disney World restaurants. I especially look forward to the soups, the watermelon rind salad, the baked salmon and, of course, the famous zebra domes for dessert.

To get to Boma, you will take a bus from Animal Kingdom to the Jambo House at Animal Kingdom Lodge. Once you've finished your all-you-care-to-eat buffet at Boma, you can use the Disney transportation to get back to your resort, but it will require a transfer at a theme park or Disney Springs. The buses do not run from resort to resort.

Catching a bus to Disney Springs may be the easiest way to use Disney transportation back to your resort. Disney Springs buses run until at least 2 a.m. daily. Transportation runs from each theme park until at least an hour after closing. Depending on your resort and where you transfer, I would expect the trip from Animal Kingdom Lodge back to your resort to take as long as an hour.

For convenience and ease, I would consider a Lyft, Uber or taxi instead. My family is loyal to Disney transportation. We seldom use our car when we are on property, choosing to let Mickey do the driving. However, we often make an exception and hire a ride after a dinner at Boma, Jiko or Sanaa at Animal Kingdom Lodge. We find the trip usually is less than $20, depending on where we are staying, and is worth the splurge.

I hope that is helpful, Olivia. Please let us know if you have other questions about dining, transportation or any other aspect of your Walt Disney World vacation. Enjoy!
