Hi Amanda!
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I love your idea to take your pirate crew and explore the beautiful island of Nassau! One of the great things about the ship docking there is that so many things are in close proximity to the ship. You can really submerge yourself in the Bahamian culture without having to travel far.
There is a restaurant (appropriately) called Bahamian Cookin' that is about a 10-minute walk from the Cruise Terminal! It's open for lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Their menu offers a variety of dishes bursting with local island flavor such as conch fritters, cracked conch, grouper fingers and conch chowder! For those in your party whose tastebuds might be looking for something a little closer to home, they offer salads, barbecue chicken, chicken fingers and barbecue ribs, too!
Although the Bahamian dollar is the legal tender throughout Nassau, U.S. currency and credit cards are also accepted throughout the island. If you have a second, review the helpful
"Travel Information" section for this port of call.
Amanda, I hope after checking out Bahamian Cookin' online that you and your family will plan a visit for lunch while stopping in Nassau! You'll be able to get some shopping done on the way to lunch, too!
