Hi Mark,
Welcome to planDisney and thank you for your question!
I’m so excited that you and your guests will be a part of the
Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser story later this month! From the pictures and videos I’ve seen, I know you'll have a memorable experience.
Upon arrival at Orlando International Airport, once you receive your luggage and get your transportation, I suggest heading over to
Disney Springs for lunch prior to your arrival at the Starcruiser Terminal. I say Disney Springs for a few reasons. First, you’re able to choose from different types of restaurants. Some of my favorites are
D-Luxe Burger,
Blaze Fast-Fire'd Pizza, and
Chef Art Smith's Homecomin'! Also, if needed, you can get any last minute Star Wars merchandise for your voyage. Keep in mind that if you’re traveling to the Walt Disney World Resort by ride-share service or taxi, you’ll be walking around with your luggage. Many guests do this when they’re traveling to and from the Airport, so Hakuna Matata! You’ll just want to plan how you’ll be moving around Disney Springs in advance. If you're renting a car, you can easily store your luggage there.
Depending on your arrival time, an alternative option is to grab a quick lunch at the Orlando International Airport. If you’re arriving late morning/early afternoon, you could grab a quick bite to eat in the Airport, then go straight to the Starcruiser Terminal. It takes about 30 minutes to go from the Airport to Walt Disney World Resort if you’re traveling by car, so you’ll want to factor that into your timing. If you have an earlier flight, I suggest going with the Disney Springs option since you’ll have a bit more time!
Remember, that you can board the
Starcruiser between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. on your arrival day. Once you’re on board, there are light refreshments prior to dinner, so make sure to save your appetite for some out of this world food!
I hope this “Bit By Bryanna” is helpful as you prepare for first voyage on the Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser.
In the meantime, if you have any other vacation or planning questions, please feel free to reach out, I’m always happy to help!
