We want to eat at Grand Floridian after our day at MK, then return to our resort, Pop Century. The park hours are only from 9:00-6:00 that day. Will we be able to get back to our resort before the buses stop running?

Hey there, hi there, ho there, Katherine!

Thanks for stopping by. We’re so happy to have you visiting us at planDisney today, welcome. I am so happy to hEAR that your trip is right around the corner. I have a few tips to share with you that may help you out during your visit!

When my family visits, we are an open to close, type of family. On the days the parks open a little later or close earlier, we too like to squeeze in a dining reservation or visit Disney Springs. The bus service runs between your Disney Resort hotel and the theme parks. The buses begin to run 45 minutes prior to park opening and end 1 hour after the park closes. Unfortunately, the buses do not run from resort to resort.

Depending what time your dinner ends, you may be able to catch a bus back to your resort. If it is 1 hour past Magic Kingdom Park closing time, you will need to find an alternate way back to Disney’s Pop Century Resort. My family likes to “walk off” their dinner and is obsessed with souvenir shopping. If you are looking to do the same, I recommend taking a bus to Disney Springs from Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & SpaDisney Springs does stay open later than the parks and offers buses back to your resort, 1 hour after their closing time. You could always enjoy the rest of the evening shopping at Disney Springs and catch a bus back to your resort from there.

Alternatively, you may also use a ride share service to receive a direct ride back to your resort. This may be a good option if you have an early morning the next day!

Katherine, regardless of what you choose to do after dinner, I hope you have a magical time! Please let us know if we can answer any other Walt Disney World Resort vacation questions for you.

    See you real soon!
