We would like to eat at Captain Cooks restaurant on May 23, 2022 for dinner. We will not be staying on property. Is it possible to do this? Will we need to pay for parking? Can we eat and then watch the fireworks? Thank you in advance for your response

    Hiya, Diane!

Welcome to planDisney.  Can you believe you're only a few weeks away from arriving at Walt Disney World Resort?  Your vacation is going to be here before you know it!  When it comes to Disney Resorts Collection hotels, Disney's Polynesian Village Resort might just be my favorite –– with its laid-back island vibe, fantastic location, and DOLE Whip right in the Great Ceremonial House, it's my idea of a vacation dream come true!

While you're welcome to dine at Capt. Cook's during your visit, you won't be able to park at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort unless you're a registered Resort Guest or you have a dining reservation at the Resort.  Unfortunately, since Capt. Cook's is a Quick Service spot that doesn't take reservations, parking isn't available for diners at this restaurant.  In order to park for dinner, I suggest parking right next to the Resort at the Transportation and Ticket Center.  From there, it's either a quick monorail ride or a short walk to the Resort.  You will need to pay for parking at the Transportation and Ticket Center, however, if you've already paid for parking at another Walt Disney World theme park that day, parking is included in the fee you've already paid, so you won't need to pay again.

Watching Disney Enchantment from the beach of the Polynesian is the perfect end to a magical day, so I'm happy to share that you'll definitely be able to do this after your meal.  Not only will you have a great view, but the Resort also plays the show's soundtrack during the performance –– even if you've seen the show from Magic Kingdom Park before, I think you'll love seeing it from this new perspective in such a beautiful setting.  And if you're really looking to take your fireworks game to the next level?  I recommend stopping by Pineapple Lanai on your way to the beach to grab a DOLE Whip –– it's the perfect treat to enjoy during the show!

I'm so glad you stopped by planDisney, Diane.  If you think of any more planning questions before your visit, I hope you'll drop in again –– we're always happy to help!
