Can you eat at Animal Kingdom without a reservation in advance?

Hi James and welcome to planDisney!

Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park has many great places to eat!  From quick-service to table-service, you'll find something for everyone at this park.

Advance dining reservations are highly recommended for any table-service restaurant anywhere at Walt Disney World, however, most of them do have a walk-up list.  You can check the status of Mobile Dine Walk-up Availability on the My Disney Experience mobile app by searching for your desired restaurant and choosing "Now" for the time.  You do have to be near the restaurant to join the walk-up list virtually.  You can also head to the restaurant and ask in person if there is walk-up space available for your family.

Since Animal Kingdom only has three table-service restaurants (Tiffins Restaurant, Tusker House Restaurant and Yak & Yeti Restaurant), chances of getting in as a walk-up are very limited.

If you have been trying to get a reservation for a particular restaurant and are coming up empty handed, keep checking!  I often find availability with a little patience.  Guests are often changing and canceling their plans, so available times pop in and out each day.  I am especially successful the week leading up to my desired date and even the day before.

If you are open to leaving the park for your meal, I highly recommend Boma - Flavors of Africa at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge.  It is just a short bus ride from the park and would make a nice little break during the day.  This is an all-you-care-to-enjoy restaurant for breakfast and dinner with delicious African inspired dishes.  Even my kids love it who are really picky eaters!

Yak & Yeti Food Cafes is an excellent choice for quick-service dining and doesn't require a dining reservation.  I had a breakfast bowl there a few weeks ago and it was delicious!  This location is always our go-to spot for lunch or even just to pop over for an egg roll snack.

Theme park reservations are still required when visiting any of the four Walt Disney World theme parks.  Make sure you secure your reservations before your visit next month.

Please stop back by if you have any additional vacation planning questions.

    Have a magical day!
