Bright Suns, Amy!
I am delighted to hear that you are planning a visit to Batuu. As one who deals with motion sickness, I can tell you what my experience has been in the past!
Although both
Star Tours - The Adventures Continue and
Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run immerse us in some flight action, I have not suffered from motion sickness on either attraction. My strategies are to chew gum on simulator rides and to sit in the front when possible. On
Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, I have served as an engineer and a pilot. I managed in both roles. It was helpful that I had to focus my attention on the mission!
The main distinction, apart from the differences in the immersive stories, is that on
Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, you will have a job to do. On Star Tours - The Adventures Continue, I notice the motion more because I am not busy helping to actually fly the ship. Luckily, the flight time is manageable so I have always survived without any ill effects.
With that said, motion sickness can be different for every individual and I, unfortunately, am not qualified to provide medical advice. I can say, however, that to get a better sense of attractions, I also always search YouTube for videos. Even though watching a video does not provide the full simulator effect, it does give me an idea of the experience.
Amy, I do hope you have checked the
park hours for the dates of your visit and made other plans for your time on Batuu. On our last visit, we stopped in
Oga's Cantina, relaxed a bit with other travelers and stood in awe at
Savi's Workshop while listening to a Gatherer facilitate the bond between lightsabers and builders. We await your arrival with hope for the Resistance!
Good journey,
Donyell
