Is there any easy way to figure out travel times between resort hotels and the various parks? It would be helpful in trying to plan our daily itineraries on the days we want to park hop. It would also be helpful to know the various travel options. Thx!

    Hi, Sandra!

Thanks so much for sending your question to us at Disney Parks Moms Panel!

When Guests visit Walt Disney World Resort, they have plenty of complimentary transportation options that will enable them to travel to all resorts, theme parks, water parks, and Disney Springs.

While Cast Members will advise Guests to allow at least 1 1/2 hours for transportation to any location, it typically takes far less than that, depending on proximity from one location to the other. With that in mind, I tend to make advanced dining reservations in Walt Disney World Resort hotels that are adjacent to the park we plan to visit that day, cutting down on transportation time.

You can maximize your time while Park Hopping, too, by picking two parks that are closest to each other. For example, Hopping between Magic Kingdom Park and Epcot is easy because they are both accessible via monorail. Disney's Hollywood Studios and Epcot are also easy Hopping options because they are so close to one another, you can walk between the two in under 15 minutes (Guests may also take a ferryboat or the super-fun Disney Skyliner, too.)

When planning your upcoming stay, I suggest that you look at the page for each Resort hotel that you plan to visit. On each resort homepage, you'll see "Transportation Options" below the Resort Map and Resort Address. For example, take a look at the homepage for Disney's Contemporary Resort, and you'll see that transportation options include a ferryboat, bus, and monorail.

Of course, there is always transportation available between theme parks, most often via the Walt Disney World bus service. To find out other transportation options, use the transportation link, and click on the specific type of transportation about which you'd like to learn more.

Should you make plans that call for a different mode of transportation, check out Disney Minnie Van Service Connected by Lyft.  My family and I used this great service just last month on a particularly rainy Sunday evening when we needed to get from our Resort hotel room to a dining reservation at California Grill. Our stylish ride was just outside our door in 6 minutes!

As you plan your Park Hopping days, Sandra, send us more questions with the specifics of your itinerary. We'd be happy to direct you to the best transportation options for each day!
