    Is it easy to buy extra diapers if we are staying at the animal kingdom resort?

    Hi Dan:

    Animal Kingdom Lodge is a wonderful resort. My family enjoyed almost a week there last month. There are a small selection of diapers for sale in all Disney resort gift shops as well as at the baby care centers located in the theme parks. So while you can easily buy extra diapers if needed, I would only rely on these diapers for emergencies and not for your supply on your vacation.

    While you will find a number of provisions, including diapers, for sale at the shops at Animal Kingdom Lodge, the diaper selection is very limited and expensive. For example, while my family was at the Animal Kingdom Lodge last month, we noticed only one size of diapers for sale, so unless your child is the perfect fit, there is a decent chance your child may be too big or small to fit into the size of diaper sold in the gift shop.

    To make sure we had enough diapers for our vacation, my family packed a suitcase full of diapers.  The good news is that we were able to use that empty suitcase to transport back souvenirs we picked up on our trip. If packing all those diapers isn't an option for you, you can order or mail a box of diapers to yourself at your resort for pick up at your arrival. If you have a car, you can drive to a local supermarket or shopping center to pick up diapers. Your resort will be able to give you directions to local markets. If you are taking a taxi from the airport to your Disney resort, you can usually arrange for the taxi to make one stop at a store and wait for you while you pick up diapers and other supplies.

    If you find that you need extra diapers on your trip, and the diapers offered at the resort and baby care centers do not work for you, you'll need to drive or take a taxi to a local store.  While that is a relatively simple task, my advice would be to try to bring more diapers than you'll think you'll need so you don't have to take time out of your vacation to shop for diapers.
