Hey There, Hi There, Ho There, Michael,
You are as welcome as can be here at planDisney! How exciting that you are considering planning your next Disney vacation. Michael, I am thinking you are referring to using your Disney Vacation Club Points, so I will answer your question with this in mind. However, if I misunderstood your inquiry, feel free to write back directly to me and I'll be happy to help you. As a Member for over 20 years, our family has loved how the flexibility of Membership has afforded us dream vacations year after year. Many of these magical trips wouldn't have been possible otherwise! I am happy to try and help you plan the vacation of your dreams too, Michael!
If you are a
Disney Vacation Club Member, you can book your Home Resort (this is the Resort into which you purchased a real-estate interest when you bought your Membership) beginning
11 months in advance of your preferred check-in date. If you want to book a
different Disney Vacation Club Resort that is NOT your Home Resort, you can do so beginning seven months in advance of your check-in date. Any remaining Disney Vacation Club rooms that may be available for booking to non-Disney Vacation Club Members after those windows may show as available around six months prior to the check-in date (subject to change and subject to availability.) Additionally, availability fluctuates regularly as Guests' plans change, so it's always a good idea to keep checking for availability either through your Disney Vacation Club Member Dashboard, by calling Member Services, or by looking on the main Walt Disney World website if you are considering booking a DVC room as a cash-paying Guest.
If you are thinking of using your Disney Vacation Club Points for a different Disney destination, such as Disneyland Paris, you would go through the process of changing your Disney Vacation Club Points into Reservation Points for booking a
Disney Resorts Collection hotel. To do this, you can check the
Vacation Points Charts to see how much it would cost, and then call
Member Services to check on availability and for booking. The
booking windows for these Resorts vary depending on location, but most of them are as early as 11 months out from your desired night of stay.
I hope this helps you, Michael. If you have any further Disney Vacation Club questions, stop back and see me here and I'll be so happy to help you. Remember, you've got a friend in me!
See ya real soon!
Keri
