Can you easily remove your magic bands each day, or do you gave to leave them on for the entire holiday?

    Christine:

Yours is a question I'm sure many have as I was intrigued about how the bands would work before our first use of them.

Unlike some of the all-inclusive resorts I've been to (especially in Mexico and the Bahamas), your MagicBand can be taken off at any time even though it is waterproof. This can be good AND bad. First the positives:

    • You can adjust it.
    • You can remove it to bathe.
    • If someone doesn't want to use their FP+, they can swap with someone else in the party.

Our trip with family in the fall found a few negatives:

    • If the MagicBand is not secure, it can come off. My father is in a wheelchair and was rubbing the band against his wheel rims when we think it came off. We feel it probably hadn't been latched completely and unfortunately had to spend time getting him a new one.
    • When swapping among the party to optimize our FP+ selections, we forgot to swap back before two of the party returned to their cabin. Without the right MagicBand, they weren't able to gain entry to their cabin.

All of the negatives were from user error. So with great freedom comes a good deal of responsibility. I think you'll enjoy the ease they bring to your vacation, though.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
