Hi there, Molly! Thank you for cruising by planDisney with your question.
The
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app is a helpful resource, for sure! Before your vacation begins, you can make a payment, complete online check-in, and book activities. When you're on your Disney Cruise, you’ll have many convenient features at your fingertips, like your rotational dining details and the Daily Activity Schedule. What your children will probably enjoy most is the onboard chat feature. Let’s talk tech and get everyone connected.
First, make sure the app is downloaded to everyone’s mobile device. Your children do not need a Disney Cruise Line account; this applies to “big kids,” too. The app transforms for everyone once you’re connected to the ship’s Wi-Fi. My husband doesn’t have his own account, but he can still access all the onboard features. Upon embarkation, each Guest will be prompted to link their stateroom. Once connected, your children can access the onboard activities and the chat feature.
For safety, Guests under the age of 13 may only use the chat function by obtaining a unique pin from the Primary Guest in the stateroom. This is usually the name of the first person on the reservation. Tap the child’s name in the app on your phone to obtain the pin. Your kids can then enter this pin on their app and start chatting. If you approve, they can also chat with any friends they make in the clubs.
After you board, I recommend heading to
Cabanas for lunch and visiting the
youth clubs. During Open House hours, parents are invited to play and explore these interactive spaces with their Mouseketeers. When secure programming begins, grown-ups are politely “kicked out,” and the kids take over. Don’t be surprised if your children are disappointed to leave the youth spaces. Based on experience, a visit to
Eye Scream Treats seems to chase those blues away.
I hope you have a rootin' tootin' good time aboard the Disney Fantasy. Please stop by and see us again.
SEAS the adventure!
