Is there early park admission on Christmas Party days?

Hi Bobby, welcome back to planDisney!

I appreciate you trusting planDisney with your trip-planning questions. I'm more than happy to continue the conversation you started with my panelist pal Michelle about park hours and offerings for general admission Guests on days that Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party is scheduled.

Early Theme Park Entry for Disney Resorts Collection Hotel Guests is offered at Magic Kingdom Park on days that Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party is scheduled. Last year, I attended the Christmas party on Friday, November 11. Early Theme Park Entry began at 7:30 a.m. and Magic Kingdom Park officially opened at 8:00 a.m. The next day, for reference, there was not a Christmas party and Early Theme Park Entry began at 8:30 a.m. prior to a 9:00 a.m. park opening. Keep an eye on the Hours and Events Calendar for your park day details, which I expect to be posted roughly 2 1/2 months in advance.

My best tip for maximizing the magic on your Magic Kingdom Park day, Bobby, is to arrive at Magic Kingdom Park one hour before park opening. You'll have plenty of time to admire the holiday decorations and capture memories on a less-populated Main Street, U.S.A. In my experience, the Starbucks on Main Street, U.S.A., opens early for all of your caffeine needs. If you are eligible for Early Theme Park Entry, I recommend taking a left at Cinderella Castle and starting your day at Jingle Cruise in Adventureland. The queue for this popular attraction grows quickly and you don't want to miss the seasonal puns and punchlines. If you are not eligible for Early Theme Park Entry, you will notice lines of general admission Guests start to queue up at the entry points to each of the 'lands' (Fantasyland, Adventureland, Tomorrowland). Pick a line with a good view of Cinderella Castle so you can catch Mickey and the gang in Let the Magic Begin five minutes before park opening. The early bird gets the shortest wait time for attractions, and I want this time for you, Bobby!

Another great way to spend less time queueing and more time doing on your Magic Kingdom Park day is to purchase Disney Genie+ service, which gives you access to Lightning Lane entrances at over 20 attractions at Magic Kingdom Park. You can purchase Disney Genie+ service via the Tip Board of the My Disney Experience mobile app (three small lines at the bottom right of the app's home page > Tip Board) anytime after midnight on your park day. I recommend purchasing by 6:45 a.m. so you can book your first Genie+ Lightning Lane reservation at 7:00 a.m. I recommend making your first Genie+ Lightning Lane selection for Jingle Cruise or Peter Pan's Flight. These are the attractions that typically run out of arrival windows first. Continue booking Genie+ Lightning Lane attractions throughout the day as soon as you are able, which is either as soon as you've redeemed an existing reservation or at the time listed on your Tip Board Banner.

Entering a park when it opens is called "rope dropping." I hereby pronounce you a fully trained "rope dropper," Bobby, and hope you make the best memories at Magic Kingdom Park this year. Please contact me directly with any follow-up questions. I am personally invested in making your best day ever a success!
