Hi Bill, and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
My family always arrives early on our theme park days, and we love watching the Let the Magic Begin opening show in Magic Kingdom Park. I always get happy tears in my eyes watching my kiddos get so excited as their favorite characters welcome them and kick off our magical day!
Let the Magic Begin takes place in front of Cinderella Castle five minutes before official park opening. You can confirm the showtime on the
show’s web page or by consulting a Times Guide (you can pick those up as you enter the park). The park’s official opening time varies depending on the season, and you can always find that time by checking the
Park Hours.
Extra Magic Hours are one of my very favorite perks of staying in a Walt Disney World Resort hotel. During Extra Magic Hours, resort Guests are able to enter the theme parks either earlier or stay later than the official park hours, which is a great way to extend the magic. On days when Magic Kingdom Park has morning Extra Magic Hours, Let the Magic Begin takes place right before the official park opening time, not the start of Extra Magic Hours. In your example, if Extra Magic Hours begin at 8:00 a.m. and park opening is at 9:00 a.m., Let the Magic Begin takes place at 8:55 a.m.
Bill, enjoy your morning at Magic Kingdom Park! There is nothing quite like walking right down the middle of Main Street, U.S.A., grabbing a magical cup of coffee, and enjoying a beautiful morning before the excitement and energy of a day in the parks. Enjoy every minute, and enjoy the show!
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
