Hi Emily. Welcome to planDisney. I'm happy to answer your question today!
So I probably shouldn't admit this out loud...but this is a safe space, and you won't tell anyone, right? Okay, good! As much as I've gone to the
Walt Disney World Resort, I have never eaten at
'Ohana! Crazy, right? And
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort is one of my favorite resorts on Walt Disney World property! I'm going to have to rectify this soon, I think!
At this time, you must cancel your reservation for 'Ohana at least 2 hours in advance of your dining reservation. Therefore, if it looks like your flight is going to be delayed, simply hop on the
My Disney Experience mobile app and cancel (or modify) your reservation before your flight takes off. With this restaurant, payment is not taken beforehand so there shouldn't be a need for reimbursement. However, if you do not show up to your reservation without canceling at least 2 hours beforehand,
a cancelation fee will be charged per person to the credit card used to guarantee the reservation.
Personally, I tend to not schedule
advanced dining reservations close to my arrival time. There can be some uncertainty at times when it comes to airline travel and I do not want to start my vacation stressing about missing a dining reservation. Instead, I usually rely on
quick-service options for meals when I get to the resort and schedule advanced dining reservations later on in the day or the next day, depending on the time I'm arriving.
Capt. Cook's at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort is a great quick-service alternative to 'Ohana as it has some unique options in a tropical setting (
Tonga Toast, anyone?). Just keep in mind that you won't be able to park at this resort unless you are staying there or have an advanced dining reservation.
Emily, your trip is right around the corner and I'm sure it's going to be a great one. If you make it to 'Ohana, say hello to Lilo and Stitch for me. I'm hoping to get there soon myself!
If you have any other questions,
please feel free to reach out to me. I'm always happy to help!
Eat all four food groups, look both ways before crossing the street, and take long naps,
