Welcome to planDisney Anne, and thank you so much for sending in your question! It’s so exciting to hear that you’re planning an early morning at Magic Kingdom and getting ready to take advantage of
Early Theme Park Entry. Those first moments in the park are truly special, and having a solid transportation plan can make all the difference in starting your day with a little extra Disney magic. I’m happy to help you understand what to expect with the monorail from the Transportation and Ticket Center to Magic Kingdom.
The
monorail from the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC) to Magic Kingdom typically begins running about 30 minutes before Early Theme Park Entry starts. Since Early Entry allows you into the park 30 minutes before the official opening, the express monorail usually starts operating about one hour before the posted park opening time.
For example, if Magic Kingdom officially opens at 9:00 am and Early Entry begins at 8:30 am, the express monorail from the TTC generally starts around 8:00 am.
It’s a good idea to arrive at the TTC at least 60 minutes before the official park opening so you’re ready when transportation begins and can make it to the gates right at Early Entry. If you arrive earlier than the monorail start time, the ferryboat is often already running and can be a reliable backup.
Anne, I hope this information helps you feel prepared as you plan your early morning arrival at Magic Kingdom. Thank you so much for visiting planDisney with your question. Wishing you a smooth start to your day, plenty of unforgettable moments, and a magical Walt Disney World vacation from the very first monorail ride.
