In early June, we'll stay with family and do 4 days at WDW. I'd love to have midday breaks for my 4.5 yr old, but it'd take an hour to go back and forth. We know we can't do it all, but we can't leave either. How can we relax & take a break at the park

You can still get in some quiet time away from the crowds and heat!

    Magic Kingdom:
Exit the park and monorail to a resort hotel for lunch. There are nice hammocks at the Polynesian beach.
Visit the Baby Care Centers. Utilize them as a nice air-conditioned oasis. Let your child watch a Disney video and chill out for a little while.
Visit Hall of Presidents. This is a nice, dark and cool theater for a short nap. The Main Street Cinema could also offer the same kind of break.
Visit the Liberty Belle riverboat on the Rivers of America or take a round-trip ride on the Walt Disney World railroad.
Pecos Bill, a counter service cafe offers a cool, dark place to unwind.
Tom Sawyer Island offers some relaxing places to rest.

    Epcot:
Visit Innoventions, Universe of Energy (sadly I’ve fallen asleep many times in this attraction) and The Seas with Nemo and Friends pavilion. Depart Epcot via the International Gateway and walk over to the Boardwalk Resort.

At Hollywood Studios, see the indoor shows or take a bus over to the Boardwalk Resort for a mid-day respite. From Hollywood Studios, you can also boat over to the Boardwalk. This would be a nice escape from the crowds.

The Animal Kingdom is a bit more difficult on very hot (or even rainy days) as there aren’t as many indoor attractions or queues as at the other parks. There is a lovely shaded area at the exit to the Dinosaur ride. Go behind Chester and Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures store to find a shaded walkway. Continue until you come to a covered area with benches. This is a wonderful area to relax. You could also take the less than 5 minute bus ride to the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Inside the lobby you will find many cozy chairs and televisions playing Disney cartoons. This would be a nice hideaway for a little while.

If you find yourself at a loss of where to go for a break, do not hesitate to ask a Cast Member for a suggestion. They are wonderful resources for all kinds of questions!
