    We have an early am flight and booked the mears transportation to take us to the airport, if the room we are staying in is far from the pick-up area, is there a way to get to the lobby with our luggage instead of having to walk all the way there?

    Well hello there Marisa, and welcome back to planDisney!

    You are absolutely right in anticipating that certain Walt Disney World Resort Hotels have buildings that can be quite the trek from where bookable Ground Transportation like the Mears Connect Driven by Sunshine service will pick guests up. I chatted with one of the Cast Members about this and we wish we knew which location across the Disney Resorts Collection you'll be staying at this month so that I could get you some more specific information about your options, but hopefully I can give you a few helpful pointers instead based on my personal experiences:

    • The first thing that could be very helpful to you is by making a room request prior to your arrival by contacting the Reservations Cast Members directly to have the importance of being close to the lobby noted on your reservation (or wherever your designated pickup location is set depending on the Resort Hotel); be sure to follow this up by indicating this preference when you complete your Online Check-In.
    • It does not hurt to inquire directly with the Cast Members at the Front Desk to let them know about your early scheduled pick-up time on your departure date so that they can be aware and offer you the options available at your Resort Hotel. For example, when we recently stayed at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa they very helpfully offered to have the Bell Services team pick us up with our luggage in their dedicated vehicles on the property, which was not only impressive but definitely deserving of a generous tip. The Cast Member I spoke with wanted to make sure to mention that this is not something that can necessarily be guaranteed nor available across all of the Resort Hotel locations, so your personal experience with this may be subject to change without notice. 
    As a personal bit of advice, I wouldn't necessarily count on calling from your in-room phone as this currently routes to a Cast Member who may be in a call center in a completely different location; it's always best to head to the folks at the Front Desk directly in my experience.
