Ahoy, Adina! I am happy to welcome you back to planDisney and aboard
Disney Cruise Line. It won't be long before you hear "Welcome Aboard" from the cruise terminal. I'm glad you sailed by with this question.
You will not know the movies shown on board until you are on the ship. Once you can connect to "DCL Wifi" (aka, Disney Cruise Line's wifi system), the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app automagically transforms to functionality that helps you navigate your cruise, including entertainment offerings and show times.
It might be too soon to know, but it's not too early to speculate. I am cruising in June, too, so I started checking out the Disney Studios calendar of release dates. Disney is the only cruise line with first-run movies, meaning you will not miss summer blockbusters at sea. According to Disney's published release dates, it looks like the mischievous Project 626 may be on board! The live-action version of "
Lilo & Stitch" is supposed to be released on May 23. 'Ohana! Pixar's "
Elio" is also on the list for June 13. There are no guarantees, but if these movies are in the theaters, there is a really good chance they will be shown on board.
The theaters are also a great place to catch up on recent movies, which is perfect if there is one you missed or want to see again. I am hoping "
Moana 2" will still be playing on board. The line where the sky meets the sea calls me... daily! I can't always answer, so I would love to see my favorite wayfinders while chasing the horizon myself.
Adina, you can check back with us at
planDisney a few weeks before your cruise for an idea of what movies may be on your cruise. You will know for sure that magical moment when you open the app and activate onboard features.
Ooh, thinking about the movies, I can suddenly smell the popcorn. Hooray for Hollywood at Sea! I hope you have a magical cruise with time in the sun and time enjoying the Silver Screen.
Bon Voyage!
