How early should I book our trip for next October 2012? We know we want to stay at the Polynesian. Do prices change throughout the year, is there a better time to book?

    Hi Christine!

I definitely recommend booking at least seven months out.  That will help you when you go to make dining reservations which can be made up to 180 days in advance.  However, if you have your heart set on the Polynesian, then no time is too early as long as prices have been released!

Discounts do get released periodically and Disney historically does not automatically apply them to your reservation.  You would have to call Disney and ask for a particular discount.  Also, you can only have one discount at a time.  Thus you will have to keep your eyes and ears out for what Disney might release in the future.

Another way is to book using an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner.  He or she is a travel agent that specializes in trips to Walt Disney World, Disneyland, on board the Disney Cruise Line, and with Adventures by Disney.  The good ones always keep an eye out for discounts and will automatically apply them to your reservation if they are applicable.  I always use one, and I've gotten several e-mails in the past along the lines of "You just saved money on your Disney vacation".  It's wonderful to see that in my in-box!  The good ones never charge guests for any of their services.

I hope this helps!  Write back with more questions.
