Greetings, and welcome to
planDisney, Kelley.
How positively excited you must be about your upcoming
European voyage with Disney Cruise Line, I have fond memories of our past sailings, especially to Italy!
Kelley, regarding
Ground Transportation, Disney Cruise Line advises Guests to book their return flights on disembarkation day no sooner than 12:00 PM. My experience with sailing to Civitavecchia (the name of the port closest to Rome) was that travel time to the airport was at best, no less than one hour, and this depends on the day of the week and time of day, it could be longer. I personally, wouldn’t book anything before 1:00 to 2:00 PM because the airport, Leonardo Da Vinci, is quite a busy place. For many, the language is a barrier, and systems for check-in and passing through security are a little harried. You’ll want to get to the airport at a calm pace to take care of logistics and then find your gate, relax and have a bite to eat before your flight home.
Booking your
Disney Cruise Line – Ground Transportation airport transfers are available for a fee, per person, by informing your travel professional, or by contacting
Disney Cruise Line – Help Center. Please do not delay in arranging your Disney Cruise Line ground transportation as this will be an option for many Guests, and the service is subject to availability.
Kelley, did you know that
Disney Cruise Line offers Pre- or Post-Cruise Hotel Stays and Transportation? If you book a hotel stay
through Disney Cruise Line before or after your sailing, transfers are available between the cruise port, hotel and airport. Please contact the
Disney Cruise Line – Help Center or your travel professional to arrange a pre-or post-cruise hotel stay. Wouldn’t it be nice to see more of Rome at a leisurely pace to stop and really delve into history? Plus, who wouldn’t want more pizza and gelato?
Tip:During your sailing, by visiting the Onboard Sales Desk, Deck 4, Midship, you can book a
Disney Cruise Line – Onboard-Only Offer toward a future sailing, or you can use the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator App if you wish. Did you know that the
Disney Dream is sailing select itineraries in Europe next year? I'm so excited about my Northern European sailing to see new places and spend time in London, post-cruise!
It was such a pleasure assisting you today, Kelley, please stop by planDisney for more first-hand tips and advice, we are always here for you!
Bon, voyage - Ciao!Jacqueline
