Hello and welcome to
planDisney, Keith. I'm so glad you've stopped by to chat about staying at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground - it's one of my favorite spots!
Keith, you are actually able to reserve a campsite at
Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground 499 days in advance. This is a little-known fact because it cannot be done online like a vacation package. To reserve a campsite this far in advance, the only way to do it is to call (407) 939-4229 and a Cast Member will be happy to assist you. You are able to add on park tickets to make it a package deal or apply any discounts that may come available at a later date. Booking 499 days out is for a resort stay reservation only. Since it seems like you have your travel dates all planned out and you are within the 499-day range, I would go ahead and call as soon as possible to reserve. The campsites are becoming more and more popular and sometimes it can be difficult to reserve a spot during the busier times.
Keith, Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground is so much fun but I will forwarn you - it's really big. I'd recommend bringing your own or
renting a golf cart to zip around on while you are there. You can rent a golf cart directly from the campground one year prior to your travel dates by calling 407-WDW-PLAY. The golf carts that are for rent seat 4 people and are really nice quality. I rent one each time I stay at the campground and always have a great experience with it. If a golf cart doesn't interest you, then I would also say a bike would be a really great idea to bring. We've taken our bikes before, especially in the warmer weather months like June, and it is a fun and convenient way to get around.
I hope this helps get you started planning and booking your stay at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. If you have any other questions about staying there along the way, please feel free to stop back by and
ask me. I'm here to help.
Happy camping!
Jackie H.
