Hello there, Lisa! Thank you for visiting planDisney with your question. Welcome!
It's not fun to think about the return trip home after a fabulous adventure at sea, but it is very wise to plan ahead, so let's make sure you have flight times that will work well for you! Disney Cruise Line suggests that guests sailing from
Port Canaveral and flying out of the Orlando International Airport schedule a flight that departs no earlier than 11:25 a.m. on their disembarkation day. This should create an appropriate buffer of time to exit the ship, clear customs, and travel to the airport for your flight.
If you would like to leave the
ground transportation to Disney Cruise Line, you can arrange for transfers to and from the Orlando International Airport. If you are interested in this option, you may
call Disney Cruise Line to add ground transfers to your booking.
With flights and transportation arranged, there isn't much left to prepare. Be sure to keep an eye on your
activity booking window so that when it opens you can make reservations for adult-exclusive dining,
Port Adventures, spa treatments, and other onboard fun. Once it is 30 days before your sailing date, you may check-in for your cruise reservation. For the online check-in process, please be sure to have photos of your travel documentation, your credit card information (for your onboard account), and a security photo (taken from the shoulders up against a plain background) for each member of your travel party.
After that, you just need to
pack your bags for your vacation and board the plane! I suggest that you keep your travel documentation in a secure spot and in your day bag so that it's with you when it is time to present it at the port.
I hope it won't be long till you set sail with Captain Mickey and Captain Minnie. Have a wonderful time!
